Nation Grid IX is Canada’s next‑generation backbone for clean power, compute, and connectivity—an Indigenous‑aligned, pan‑Canadian corridor that links grid‑scale electricity, fiber, rail, and sovereign AI infrastructure into a single national platform.
Over the long term, Grid IX is designed to unlock multi‑billion‑dollar investments, enable a ten‑ to twenty‑fold increase in interprovincial clean power trade and is structured so that a meaningful share of the value flows directly to Indigenous nations and communities through ownership, equity, revenue‑sharing, and local procurement.
Long‑term economics: With Nunavut already outpacing the rest of Canada in GDP growth, coupling that momentum to NIC Aqaq positions the territory as a key contributor to national growth, Arctic sovereignty, and export diversification
over the next 20–30 years. Indigenous‑led NIC and Grid IX are designed as multi‑billion‑dollar national corridors that unlock new mining, forestry, hydrogen, fiber, and export capacity while driving GDP growth, education, job creation and more.
